I recently got my hair cut and colored and I was asked how often I wash my hair. My answer: every few days (which she was thrilled about). I didn’t tell her that it’s only because I can’t find the time to do it more often with two little babies at home!
She was surprised to find out the secret to keeping my hair fresh which is…
…corn starch! Dry shampoo is wonderful but it’s expensive (this one’s my favorite) so when I run out or don’t feel like spending the money on a new bottle, I use corn starch.
Here’s what I do:
With my hair completely dry, I just dip my fingers in and coat them with corn starch and then massage my scalp where it looks greasy. I let it sit for a few minutes and then brush it out. Voila! Fresh hair. It actually makes it look voluminous and beachy. Then I usually put it up in a messy ponytail or bun.
Another idea is to put it in at night and wake up with a deliciously messy ‘do. I might give that a try next time just to see how it looks.
What about you? Any secret tips to your hot mama hair?

LOL Goh that is so true. I’m sure this is what they use in high school productions to make the students look like old ladies 🙂

I use baby powder. I usual do this at night so I can sleep some of the power away. It’s tricky with my dark hair. Too much and it looks like grey hair.
